Could you please advise me regarding pontoon boat trailers? I have a 20 foot
pontoon boat with loaded weight of 3200lbs. My wife has broken the axle twice
this year on my current single axle trailer. Besides a divorce, what can you
recommend? I am thinking of a double axle trailer, and I like to drive the
boat on to the trailer. I need something that takes the abuse of my wife
driving up on the curbs etc. and bouncing off. The current trailer has a leaf
spring system.

Most all of the drive on trailer companies offer a tandum axle trailer.
That is all I will use for a pontoon boat. As you have said, they are
heavy. I have not had any problems with any of my trailers.
By the way, what brand trailer is yours. Sounds like it is bairly rated for
the boat weight. Remember you have to add 1000 lbs for the trailer also to
get proper axle rating.
