In search of: scale model of a Hobie Cat sailboat?
I'm in search of a hobie cat model.
I'm looking for something small enough that I could build and place
on a table or mantel.
Any help/pointers would be greatly appreciated.

There is a model of the 14 made by Dumas Boats in Tucson Arizona. Most
model boat suppliers can get you one, try surfing to the Tower Hobbies site.
The boat is made of 1/20th inch mahogany sheeting over a mahogany and balsa
frame, I think.(I built a few of the Dumas Sunfish model kits and that's how
they are made) The boats are made for free sailing or display, but if you
intend on getting it wet, waterproof it inside and out with epoxy before
putting the deck on.
