Suggestions? Fishing boat for crab pots that can pull a skier?

Question:
Suggestions? Fishing boat for crab pots that can pull a skier? I'm looking for suggestions. I need a boat that will primarily be a saltwater fishing/crabbing boat (30% and 40% of time respectively) but that is reasonable for pulling a skier. I'd like it to be 16'-18' so that I can take it to a lake if I want for fresh water fishing. I'd like an open bow and am looking for an outboard for the simple reason we need lots of room inside the boat at the back for crab pots. As fishing/crabbing is messy, dirty business, I want a fishing boat that I can ski with rather than a ski boat that I can fish out of. I've budgeted $20,000 CAN for boat, motor and trailer. I'm in Vancouver.

I looked at a 17' Sylvan Super Sport the other day (with a 130 HP Johnson) which seemed to fit the bill.

Any help would be appreciated???

Answer:
- You might want to look at the Bayliner 2052 & 2252. Both are very close to your target new. They are both very dry boats and offer the protection of a cabin and bimini as standard equipment. Good choices for your area and intended usage.

- Did you read the guy's post? He wants a 16-18' boat, not an underbuilt 20 or 22 foot Bilgeliner. Do you even know what a crab pot is? Why would he want to haul crab pots in over a slab-sided boat like yours? Why would he want a frippin' mini-cabin boat? He wants something open, and easy to wash out, with a lot of room that is uncluttered by things such as an I/O box.

- You'd think he'd find the pounding, hard riding, and wet Seep Pro a bit of a problem in the straits of Georgia and Juan de Fuca. He did say Vancouver, Harry. Do you think a 17' Sea Pro would be a better choice for him than the similarly priced 2052? I do believe that 2052 comes with *full* enclosure for the helm position as standard equipment.
